Active kids need regular, healthy meals and snacks 🌿🔥to provide the fuel required for growth & development 💪🏻and to keep hunger at bay😊⁣⁣⁣⁣

⚽️Holiday camp essentials

Healthy snack ideas for a day of activity:

🍓🍑🍒3 pieces of seasonal fruit ⁣⁣

💥wholewheat wrap or sandwich to provide slow release carbs for energy⁣⁣

🍿 substitute popcorn for crisps to reduce saturated fat intake ⁣⁣

🥜🍇add in some mixed dried fruit & nuts for a nutrient dense energy fix⁣⁣

🍶freeze yoghurt pouches to boost calcium & keep the lunchbox cool, ⁣⁣

🧀🥚for a quick protein fix add in sticks of cheese or a hard boiled egg ⁣⁣

💧don’t forget to include a refillable water bottle! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

🏡At Home:⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣Shortcuts to help ensure kids get the taste for the good stuff


🍒Fruit Bowl - Have a bowl full of whatever fruit is cheap and seasonal (usually the same thing!) for kids to snack on.. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

🥗Veggies - keep a box of vegetables crudités in the fridge to dip in low fat humus & tomato salsa to keep their veggie intake up ⁣⁣⁣⁣

👩🏼‍🍳Batch cook - choose dishes that you can easily make double and stick one in the freezer to save you cooking another day ⁣⁣⁣⁣

🌳Get outside - Pack a picnic and head for the hills! Kids thrive on fresh air & exercise and everyone loves a picnic :) ⁣⁣⁣⁣

👫Delegate - let the kids choose a recipe then prepare the meal together to engage them in the process of cooking food from scratch ⁣⁣⁣⁣
